For tech enthusiasts, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a great time of year where all kinds of new devices make their debut. Smart home decor is quite common at the Las Vegas event every year, and in 2022, several brands will be showing off new HomeKit wares. The Eve Outdoor Cam, due out in April, features a sleek, modern design, powerful integrated floodlights, and support for HomeKit Secure Video. “By combining elegant aesthetics with technology designed to protect privacy, Eve Outdoor Cam goes beyond the old security camera concepts with their eye-catching looks and manufacturer clouds,” said Jerome Gackel, CEO of Eve Systems. “Eve Outdoor Cam embodies what Eve stands for: beautiful, connected home products that set the standard for privacy-first smart homes.” The Eve Outdoor Cam streams and records events in 1080p HD at 24 fps with a wide 157-degree field of view. There's also two-way audio, IP55 weatherproofing and IR night vision. Via HomeKit Secure Video, Eve Outdoor Cam securely stores 10 days of events in iCloud. The Eve Outdoor Cam can also take advantage of other HomeKit Secure Video features such as facial recognition and packet detection; plus, users can customize smart notifications that can delete things like cars or pets. Eve's Outdoor Cam costs $249.95.

Eve Wired Motion Blinds Source: Eve Systems In addition to the new floodlight camera, Eve announced that the company's MotionBlind motor technology for roller blinds is now available through select Coulisse window covering resellers. The company is launching its Tapo brand in the US with a range that includes HomeKit-compatible smart plugs, light bulbs, smart dimmers, and more. Like many of the best HomeKit smart plugs, the Tapo P125 Mini Smart Plug offers a compact design that takes up only one outlet.

With a Schlage Home Key in Apple Wallet, homeowners don't even have to unlock their iPhone or Apple Watch to open their lock, and with Power Reserve, even if the iPhone needs charging, they may still be able to tap to unlock for up to five hours. after their iPhone battery runs out.
