The new Phyn water sensor protects your home from wireless leaks

Cupertino, May 6, 2021

Phyn announced the launch on Thursday of the latest smart water accessory, the Phyn wireless smart water sensor. The new Phyn sensor, like the best smart water leak detectors, aims to prevent significant water damage in the home, alerting homeowners when a water leak is detected through audio and visual notifications and alerts.

"At Phyn, we want to make it as simple as possible for people to protect their homes from the paralyzing effects and high cost of water damage," said Ryan Kim, Phyn's CEO. “From Phyn Plus, our professional home monitoring system, to the DIY Phyn Smart Water Assistant and the newly launched smart water sensor, our wide range of products makes it accessible for all homeowners to start taking proactive steps to -insure their homes. . "

The Phyn smart water sensor has an incredibly compact footprint, with a width of only 3.5 inches, allowing it to be conveniently located near ordinary appliances and bodies. The sensor has a set of contacts under the frame, allowing the detection of water without external probes or wires in the box, giving it a clean general appearance.

The Phyn sensor works for up to two years on four AA batteries, and when replacement is required, users are notified via the free Phyn app - available on iOS and Android. Connecting to the app is possible via the built-in Wi-Fi network, which does not require a dedicated hub, additional accessories or even a subscription fee.

Through the Phyn app, users can set up water detection alerts, review status history, and access values such as temperature and humidity. When the Phyn smart water sensor detects the presence of water, users are notified either by push notifications or SMS, and the sensor hardware also includes audible and visual alarms on board.

While the smart water sensor works as a standalone accessory, the new sensor is compatible with the Phyn Plus smart water shut-off valve, adding an extra layer of protection. When the sensor detects a leak, Phyn Plus owners can remotely turn off the main water supply line for their home with a tap in the Phyn app.

Phyn also introduces two accessories for the smart water sensor that expands the coverage capabilities alongside the new version. The Phyn smart water sensor extension node allows placement under tight spaces, such as under a refrigerator or washing machine, while the Phyn water sensor cable adds an extra four-foot coverage. Several extension cords can be added - up to 12 feet, and the cord itself can detect leaks when any part of it becomes wet.

The Phyn smart water sensor is now available through Phyn.com, as well as through Amazon, Best Buy and Home Depot. The wireless sensor retails for $ 39.99 for a single unit, and multiple packages will be available later this spring. Prices for sensor accessories start at $ 9.99 for the extension node and $ 25.99 for the sensor cable.
