Cupertino, September 7, 2023

The release of watchOS 10 brings several exciting updates to the Apple Watch, including a major overhaul of the native apps. One of the most notable innovations is the Home app, which now offers an improved and integrated HomeKit experience. The new Home app in watchOS 10 features a redesigned user interface that enables easier navigation and control of HomeKit devices.

Upon opening the app, users are greeted with a screen displaying their camera feeds at the top. Below the camera feeds are four quick buttons for climate, lighting, security, and speakers. Users can easily access and control their favorite HomeKit devices by scrolling down the screen.

One of the new features of the Home app in watchOS 10 is the intercom button, which can be accessed by swiping to the top of the screen. The intercom feature allows users to communicate with other HomeKit devices in their home. To control individual devices, users can tap a device in the app and turn it on or off. For devices such as thermostats and lights, users can tap the ... icon to access more precise controls.

The new update also enables easier manual control of devices such as smart locks and dimmable lighting. Overall, the upgraded Apple Watch Home app offers a more seamless and intuitive HomeKit experience. Users can quickly check the status of their home, access and control their devices, and enjoy a more responsive user interface.

With the release of watchOS 10, Apple has taken a step toward fully integrating the Apple Watch into the smart home ecosystem. With the improved functionality of the Home app, Apple Watch users have even more control over their smart home devices and can enjoy a more streamlined experience.
