Yale Introduces Assure Lock 2 Plus with HomeKit Integration and Apple Home Key Support

Cupertino, September 27, 2023

Yale has recently introduced its newest smart lock, known as the Assure Lock 2 Plus. This lock is equipped with HomeKit integration, allowing it to work seamlessly with Apple Home Key. With this keyless entry system, users can easily unlock their doors by simply tapping their iPhone or Apple Watch via the Wallet app. Alongside Home Key, the Assure Lock 2 Plus can also be accessed through ‌HomeKit‌ commands or passcodes.

For added convenience, the Assure Lock 2 Plus offers temporary access options through access codes, making it ideal for granting guests entry. Users can also opt to purchase an additional Wi-Fi module to enable remote access to the lock.

In addition, Yale has introduced the Assure Lock 2 Touch, a smart lock equipped with a fingerprint sensor and ‌HomeKit‌ integration. However, unlike the Assure Lock 2 Plus, this model does not support Apple Home Key. It's worth mentioning that currently, Yale does not offer a lock that combines support for both Home Key and a fingerprint sensor, so customers will need to decide which feature is more important to them.

Pricing details for these smart locks are as follows: the Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus with Home Key can be purchased for $210 with Bluetooth connectivity or $290 for Wi-Fi support. The Wi-Fi models require a 2.4GHz network. On the other hand, the Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch starts at $199 for the Bluetooth version, with options for both key and keyless models. The Wi-Fi version is priced at $280.

To summarize, the Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus and Assure Lock 2 Touch are innovative smart lock options that offer distinct features. While the Assure Lock 2 Plus supports Home Key and convenient access codes, the Assure Lock 2 Touch includes a fingerprint sensor but lacks Home Key support. Customers can choose the lock that aligns best with their needs and preferences.
