Smart home accessories maker Aqara announced today that it is bringing support for HomeKit's Adaptive Lighting feature to its full portfolio of smart lighting products, with a new firmware update 3.2.4.
With this update, the Aqara Hub M1S and LED bulb add support for Apple's HomeKit adaptive lighting feature. This feature was first introduced with iOS 14 and allows smart lighting products to automatically change color temperature during the day.
By giving users the right color temperature at the right time of day, Aqara smart lights with the Adaptive Lighting feature will help increase someone's ability to stay alert and active during the day and relax and unwind at night.
Aqara has made the M1S firmware update (v3.2.4) available to most users and will be released for users in mainland China starting April 2nd. The M2 firmware update will be available soon.
In the 9to5MacHomeKit Weekly series, we covered the Apple adaptive lighting function. At that time, only a few Philip Hue bulbs and the Eve light strip supported this function.
