Homekit Locks and self-locking

Cupertino, August 8, 2020

Hi everyone - I've been playing around with home automation and shortcuts to see if there's any way to automatically block an open lock. Basically, I want to make sure that the lock will lock automatically within 5 minutes of unlocking (or 10 or 15, you'll get the problem). I don't see a way to do this (but I'm probably dumb).

I recently had a break along the street, where he entered through an unlocked front door, and my wife is now free not to lock the front door. This is a perfect opportunity for me to change my SmartThings compatible lock to a Homekit compatible one, but only if I can tell her that I can force her to self-lock regardless of the situation.

May? TIA.
