Trying to understand why HomeKit plays on all speakers in one room

Cupertino, March 8, 2021

Dear community, I set up a HomePod in my living room and I also added Sonos Arc to my Home app. When I tell my HomePod to play in the living room, it uses both HomePod and Arc, if I tell Siri to use only HomePod, it does the same for Arc. However, if I just tell my HomePod to play something, it uses both the HomePod itself and the Arc. This is not a problem, because in most cases I want the speakers to behave this way, I'm just curious how HomePod decides that just "play" includes both speakers by default and not just, say, the HomePod itself. I also wonder how this will work once there are HomePods in many rooms. Will a simple "play" command (for example, without specifying the camera) cause it to play on all speakers? Does a simple "play" command always use all available speakers by default? Thanks for pointing me to this.
