As I get closer to doing some home remodeling work, I go over the list of neat gadgets and see what I could get that would fit into my budget and fit into my home. As I rebuilt the bathrooms, I thought of U by Moen.
I was wondering if anyone was here. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the effort to have one installed. I watched some installation videos and instructions. Looks like it's designed for PEX or maybe copper where I have galvanized pipes. If it's not compatible or adaptable, I don't want to go through the difficulty of converting.
I am also curious about functionality and reliability. I feel that although I rarely have power issues, battery backup is a must. I tried to think through this and another problem I came up with is what to do when it is outdated or if I decide to eliminate it. Then there's a hole in my shower wall.
Thoughts? Feedback from current owners?
