Korean consumer electronics giant LG has canceled plans to support Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit technologies for its older 2018 models, despite previous assurances.
This means that the owners of the company's 2018 TVs, such as SK and UK LED TVs and B8 to Z8 OLED TVs, will not receive support for the aforementioned Apple technologies. "Hello, LG does not intend to update its pre-2019 TVs with Airplay2 or Homekit unfortunately," according to a tweet from LG UK observed by MacRumors.
Indeed, all previous mentions regarding the LG 2018 TVs receiving AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support have been removed from the LG support page. AppleInsider mentioned that the tweet dates from a week ago. However, it is now followed by complaints from TV owners in 2018.
Your company should be ashamed. I am sure that more than 22,000 customers will never buy another product from LG now, after knowing that the life of your products is much less than 2 years. Especially considering that you said that you will update the 2018 TVs on your website and now you have deleted it!

Only a few months ago, in April 2020, LG reiterated its previous promise that AirPlay 2 and HomeKit will come to select TVs made in 2018. The functions should have arrived through a software update that was to be released by October . year.
However, today's confirmation from the Korean provider virtually eliminates all hopes of AirPlay 2 and HomeKit compatibility on LG TVs made in 2018. Do you have an LG TV 2018 or older, but want AirPlay 2 and HomeKit built-in? If you ask LG, in this case, you should simply buy a new TV from them (or simply buy a much cheaper Apple TV and do so).
