I just received a HomePod and can't seem to discover shortcut automation. When I select HomePod in an if statement, it returns nothing. I try to set a HomeKit button to play or pause the HomePod based on whether it is currently playing or paused. Any idea?

Is this how a thermostat should work in HomeKit? It already has 21 degrees, but still sets it to 21 degrees automatically? It's homebridge so maybe I did something wrong.

How does the Bluetooth accessory work in your home? Better than expected!

I bought my first and only bluetooth accessory about 2 months ago, the door sensor from Elgato. I have always tried Bluetooth devices in the home connection to the nearest hub, in my case Apple TV 4k. The range may be a problem with Bluetooth, I knew, but it's only 4-5 meters and in clear […]

Ecobee HVAC Ventilator

Most of you with an Ecobee thermostat probably know that it does not allow independent control of the HVAC fan in HomeKit. I found a problem using the Home + app and the DummySwitch plugin for Homebridge. The Home + app allows you to change the fan status between on and off. This status change […]

iDevices Switch Outdoor Unanswered from Wifi

My iDevices Outdoor switch shows "Unanswered" when I'm away from home or off Wi-Fi. Currently, I use AppleTV 4K as a hub, but it is wired. So, I guess AppleTV controls the switch when I'm away from home it has to be on the same WiFi network as the iDevices switch instead of hardwired. Is […]

At one point, Siri on my phone stopped being able to play music in a room. This is only the case in rooms where the Airplay lens is an Apple TV. For example, I have an Airport Express in the kitchen and I can say, "Hey Siri, play music in the kitchen" and start playing […]

Way to go, r / HomeKit (seems to be the site for homekit questions)

This is really just an observation with a hint of a question. You may have seen that Apple recently broke HomeKit Automations using shortcuts with the latest tvOS update (13.3). No need to go further here about what a stupid PITA this has become when your not insignificant investment in very expensive HomeKit automation suddenly […]

HomeKit / Wemo incorrect status
