Lutron lamp lag time to "update" when I start HomeKit.

It seems every time I open HomeKit it takes about ten seconds for all my lutron lights to update. Then it works without delay when I turn something on or off. Connected via 4K TV and some iPads as backups. Lutron ra2. Lutron bridge. WiFi is strong throughout the house. Any suggestions!!?

Scenes in seasons

It's that time of year. My parents have HomeKit in their house and I wonder how to set it so certain scenes only come on between two dates. They have several items in their house that are set up year-round but do not want them to come year-round.

The Leviton Home set changes

I recently purchased a few homekit switches from leviton and few of these boxes were open in the store. My question is, if I use these boxes, is there any way to get my switches hacked, like someone copied the QR code? Can they be added over the internet using QR code? Thanks.

Shortcut to Automation Does Not Perform in iOS Public Beta 13.3?

Hi, due to the HomeKit "black screen issue" app in iOS 13.2, I had to upgrade to the public Beta 13.3 (17C5023d) and the black screen no longer appears. But the problem now is that most homekit shortcut machines no longer run! Was the fix just to not let them run ?? For example: When […]

Network security for your Homekit hubs and devices

I have two HomePods that act as nodes for my home. I decided to put both HomePods on my "devices" Wifi network with all my Homekit devices. I have isolated this network because I suspect every device I use is not very secure and more susceptible to hacking. For a while, I thought I had […]

Phillips Hue Go turns off randomly

Has anyone had problems with their Phillips Hue Go just accidentally turned off. It will do so at intermittent times. Sometimes after being turned on for 10-15 minutes, sometimes after 45 minutes or longer, but it will eventually shut itself down. It will do so regardless of whether it is plugged in or operating on […]

Triggers based on temperature and humidity

I recently got the Eve Room sensor and noticed that it only seems to create triggers for Automations in the iOS Home app based on air quality but not temperature or humidity. Is this a restriction on Eve or Apple's Homekit APIs? I also noticed that I cannot configure push notification alerts for any of […]

Big, cheap touchscreen controller?

Has anyone figured out a good, reliable, [relatively] inexpensive, large touch screen controller that I could use for a HomeKit main room console? I would very much like a 12.9 ”iPad Pro, but can't justify $ 1 $ for sitting and running a non-intensive app. I would love something that I could run through PoE […]

How can I find out who is at home?

I have some automations running when the last person is traveling, or only if someone is home that is not working as expected. Looks like they think a phantom person is in my house. How can I troubleshoot this issue? Apple does not appear to provide any way to determine this information

Automation is not running

I've set up an automation when my kids leave home, it sets a scene for the upstairs lights (the scene turns off 3 dimmers), turns off the lights in the hallway and across the breakfast table, and locks the front door. The automation is set to run only between 7am and 9am. My kids travel […]

Home + Automation failed miserably ...

HI! I have used "HOME +" to create two temperature-based automations designed to control a smart plug. The temp sensor is an iHome iSS50, it reports well at all points without any problems. Apple already has to bring "light-based" automations

It has been three years with HomeKit, and there is not much improvement per year. Year. If I have a Hue sensor to detect movement in my bedroom and have the automation to turn on all the lights, why can't Apple use its own data to add even more customization to automations? Hood sensors indicate […]
