Hey, I'm trying to connect my Aqara M2 hub as a device, but I'm getting this message. I have the HomePod mini as a hub and an Apple TV plus some Aqara matter sensors. I'm not sure why I got this message.

I was able to delete my HomeKit instance through the MyQ app, but crash. kill me It will rebuild everything and back it up. Some things seem different now. How do you end a sunrise scene? I have all the exterior lights on at sunset, but I can't figure out the second automation to turn […]
I bought the Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus with Wi-Fi and Apple Home Key for my garage door and it works well with my iPhone and Apple Watch using the Home key. I chose Yale because they seem to be the only company that offers a product for my Eagle (Andersen) front door with combination […]
I changed my phone's battery yesterday and when I got home the location based notifications weren't working. For example, I have things set so that the lock only notifies me if no one is home, and a motion sensor only notifies me if I am not home. They both now notify me all the time, […]
I'm upgrading from Assure SL to the new Assure Lock 2 Plus (with Home key). When the door locks or unlocks, it makes two locking sounds. My previous lock just made a single locking sound. Is this normal for new Assure locks? Or is this drive faulty or maybe installed incorrectly?
When I see my cameras, my volume slider is all the way to silent. I always have to adjust it so I can hear any sound. Then if I switch to another camera, the volume slider stays where I just set it, but again, no sound. If I touch the slider, the sounds start to […]
TL;DR check all home devices to see if they are listening to hey siri after updating to iOS 17. I made a post ( https://homekit.blog.com/r/HomeKit/s/S4Kh2WoWEL ) about Siri sucking after updating. And I found what was causing my problems. The other day my wife and I were cooking when we ran out of milk. She […]
it usually pings my phone now when i ask it just says you'll have to check find my app on iphone or continue on iphone which obviously i can't find it. Has it stopped working for anyone else?
So I'm in an RV and have HomeKit installed. No base station/hub yet, but plan to get a HomePod mini soon. I have a heating thermostat set and I'm curious if I can have a way to tell it to raise the thermostat when I'm a few blocks away so the heat is on and […]
My girlfriend stays with me and I tried to invite her to my home in HomeKit. She gets the invitation on her screen. She beats him. Open HomeKit, say "welcome to HomeKit" and stuff, then take her to her own non-existent home. He tried several times. Same result even if we delete her home from […]
Hi all, I'm trying to figure out how to set this up. I came up with setting up an automation and say "when the temperature sensor reaches 22 degrees, turn on the fan". But what is the best way to stop it again? Would I set up a second automation to do the opposite? For […]
I have searched for days and hours, unfortunately there is nothing. The cabinets I've seen are a Wemo/Belkin wired dimmer with HomeKit support only, a neutral wire is required. Maybe next year in 2024 sometime?
Wondering if anyone knows of any HomeKit compatible tower fans? I'm having no luck finding it. My other option was to use a tower fan with physical push buttons along with a smart socket. But then again, I don't know of any tower fans with buttons that stay pressed. So any suggestions for that would […]
Nanoleaf GU10 and 4" Recessed Downlights are now available for pre-order in the US.
I wanted to install the Thermostate stuff by Eve but no luck so far. I can tighten the metal part on the radiator wire, but the rest of the thermostat is pretty loose and won't work. On the previously installed one it says Oventrop and on the radiator it says DN15.
Unable to activate sensors to trigger alarm in Aqara HomeKit mode. A fix?
So I'm in the HomeKit app, tap the + icon to add an accessory. My AirPlay 2 speaker (B&O Beosound 2) appears, but when I tap on it, this alert message appears. Any idea how to fix this? My iPhone and speaker are connected to WiFi.
Does anyone know what surge protectors offer this? I have an arcade cabinet. I have a separate sound system connected to it with its own power switch. I would like to leave the audio power switch on all the time so that I don't have to keep turning it on and off, but have it […]
I just recently switched from Alexa to HomeKit and it's been great. One thing I'm really impressed with was that I can get my unsupported ring cameras, nest thermostat and outdoor sockets/dimmers to work flawlessly with full function. There was a learning curve, but it was solid from installation. If you are about to use […]
Since I'm seeing a lot of posts regarding this crash in this thread, I thought I'd see if anyone could provide an update on the battery life for the plus encoding? I have the latest Apple TV so I will be able to use the thread.
I have a situation where I want to connect a switch that is currently controlling an outlet. I'd rather not control the outlet and just want to use the button to start an automation. Does anyone know if this will work?
I had a remootio running my electric gate. I wonder (before switching the whole system to the garage door, required for HK) how does it work?
Hi all, I bought two of the Aqara curtain motors to work on a double curtain window. I managed to set it up and added to HK, although it was quite temperamental. My question is - how do I control the speed? I'm so hot I wake up! I anticipate they will be less at […]
I have 7 homepod minis and an ATV Gen 4 that is wired via ethernet. All are running at least iOS 17 or 17 Public Beta. I have a network problem where every few days my wifi goes down for 1 minute and then comes back online. Not a problem for most things, but when […]
I have 3 Schlage codes plus locks on the front doors. I set them all up through the Schlage app before integrating with HomeKit/Home. Two of the three automatically lock after 4 minutes via the Schlage app feature. For some reason the third one refuses to connect to my wifi and so the auto lock […]
I hope this is the right place. So I just bought a power eve and wanted to plug it in and it says I need a hub which I don't have. I did some searching and found several sources stating that it should be able to connect without a hub just using Bluetooth. But my […]
We fitted door and window contacts throughout the house. How do I get a notification when the last person in the household leaves the house that a window may still be open? Is it even possible?
I'm not sure if I'm missing something. But is there a way to link multiple sensors under one automation? I'm looking to connect all my door sensors under one automation so that when a door opens in the middle of the night, the lights in my house turn on. But the only way I seem […]
When I ask Siri what my thermostat is set to, it always says 86° when cooling and 79° when heating, regardless of device (phone, HomePod, etc). It's correct in the home app though. I tried removing and adding the thermostat to HomeKit but it still does this. Has anyone else had this problem or know […]
What is the current state of the art in designing reliable automations based on continuous values from measurement sensors? (HomeKit only, not Home Assistant, etc. 3rd party HomeKit apps, OK.) Here's my experience: For several years I've used automation to trigger HRV based on CO2 readings from multiple Netatmo devices around the house. The automation […]
I know it uses your iPhone to determine location, but does anyone know if it also uses devices like an iPad or Apple Watch (with mobile)? For example, if I were to leave my phone at home and go out with just my watch on, would my automations run?
