AirPlay streaming to HomePods does not work on 17.3
AirPlay streaming to HomePods does not work on 17.3
Hi So does anyone know of an air purifier and humidifier that also accepts homekit?
All devices have been updated today. I can't control HomePods or Apple TV from Control Center on any device; iPhone, iPad or watch. Let's assume it's a bug. Anyone else having similar problems?
I would like my shade light in my mudroom to turn on when my shade sensor detects motion and turn off after 3 minutes. I also want my light red tint (and stay on until disarmed, only at night) when my alarm is armed. Any ideas on how to make it?
Is there a way to connect a cheap non-broadcast Android TV to HomeKit?
I'm looking at changing \~20 switches. Given the tight fit in the group boxes with 2 smart switches, I'm looking at relays. I have an eero 6 mesh network so it could handle some wifi but I'd prefer thread if possible. Doing relays the wifi should be fine considering its light load is half the […]
The old Logitech Circle 2 model had [a magnetic mount accessory](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CVH4CPG/), but as far as I can tell the Circle View Camera only has a fixed mounting plate. Is anyone aware of a primary accessory or 3D printed version that would allow the Circle View camera to be magnetically attached? It's been out for a […]
I love the new IKEA sensors and switches. I also saw Onvis recommended several times on this sub and decided to give them a try! Any examples of setting up the Onvis switch?
I plan to do all my smart lightning using the homepod mini as a hub. Can you please recommend if I use smart relays, switches or smart bulbs. Also can you recommend me which one to buy in Europe
I've been messing with this for a few months now. I have a few scenes that always report "Failed" and it seems to be getting worse rather than better. Siri sometimes even says I can ask what went wrong, but I can't figure out what the incantation is to that answer. Here's the thing though, […]
I have several seasonal accessories and lights used for Christmas decorations. Devices are unplugged and inaccessible after vacation. What's the best way to address "device unreachable" messages in the off-season? We're looking for options that don't require deleting and re-adding devices every year. Edit after reading the comments: keeping the plugs plugged in sounds like […]
Is it possible to group multiple thermostats together so they maintain identical setpoints and programs?
Hi all, Looking for a smart and cheap setup for my home. My main criteria is that everything is HomeKit compatible. I also don't want to limit myself to one brand; instead, I want to be able to combine different sensors or devices from different brands. I'm aware that HomeBridge is some kind of solution […]
Is there an easy way to implement more targeted central heating setups without a third party? That is, being able to say "Heat the house" and it will turn on the central heating and heat every room Or alternatively "Heat {room}" and it will turn on the central heating but restrict the heating to other […]
I bought a new Apple TV a while back, also for the automation options of Apple HomeKit. Now I set up a series of automations: 45 minutes before sunset to 45 minutes after sunrise - when someone is home > lights on 45 minutes before sunset to 45 minutes after sunrise - when the first […]
I did a search and it seems there hasn't been a post on smart shades in about a year so I wanted to see if anything had changed. Looking to get smart shades throughout the house. He would try it in a bedroom first to see how it goes. Any specific recommendations on which to […]
As seen in the attached image, you can see two of the items listed in a yellow color, meaning two sets of all gray items as a group. All of a sudden, individual grouped items were showing as unresponsive, even though groups of the same item work perfectly. Why and how could this be? So […]
It's so bizarre that HomeKit has supported second homes for years, but still doesn't allow you to limit the access other members have to your smart home. It's such a bizarre omission. I thought that when HomeKey support came out, there would be new granular options for controlling access to your home, but nope. There […]
Control the shades with the Tahoma zigbee hub and use the HomeKit app to tell them what to do. The most distant ones are behind. Do we need to add a zigbee plug or a HomeKit plug to make them move faster? Or add the zigbee plug which will then appear in Home? I have […]
I recently found myself falling into the smart home/Apple HomeKit, that said, I was looking for some recommendations for a TV backlight that is: 1. Responsive to the screen 2. HomeKit ready (I don't own a bridge). Thanks! (The TV is 55 meters apart)
Hi everyone, I migrated to HomeKit this weekend and noticed that the automations don't seem to work. Everything works fine when I use the test of this automation, but when it's actually enabled, it doesn't work. Any ideas on what's going on?
I just bought [Eve MotionBlinds](https://motionblinds.com/en/eve/) for a window about 5 meters high so we can close and open the blinds from there. It comes with batteries and a USB-C cable to charge it. My plan is to connect the cable to the blinds so I don't have to go up the stairs twice a year […]
# TD;LR Hue updated their app that broke the official Hue shortcuts. If Siri stops responding to Hue commands and you're using the official Hue shortcuts, then delete the shortcuts and add them again. # Problem I googled for a solution and didn't find anything, so I'm leaving it here for future users who come […]
I have 5 Ecobee smart cameras and doorbell cameras. They always work with the Ecobee app. Through HomeKit, 1/2 of the cameras don't always work periodically and randomly because the Apple TV will connect to them in bands other than 2.4Ghz, which throws HomeKit down. I know I can go to the Ecobee app to […]
We have a Wemo doorbell installed. It seems to be unavailable more than once, it rarely appears on AppleTV. And the video rarely comes up... it would work for a few weeks and take a month off. The error message is "no response". I have an AP near there and I know the network is […]
I'm new to this... but HomeKit seems strangely restrictive. From searching on homekit.blog and google it looks like I can set a trigger that if the temperature drops below say 60 degrees (read by HomePod or other device) the only thing I can do is turn on a light bulb etc but I can't send […]
I've been using Apple Music to play music and radio in automations, but I want to cancel my Apple Music account and switch to YouTube Music Premium. I played around with the Home app and have YT Music connected to my HomePods and it worked great. In the Home app, YT is set as the […]
Please recommend smart home switches in Europe, also think it is better to install the smart relay with a mute switch or use the smart switch directly. Another problem I have is if they were zigbee or thread devices and it would make sense ;
We are looking for a HomeKit solution for doorbell without video. Essentially, we want a doorbell that someone can press, which Siri will then announce through our HomePod. Is there such a solution?
Switchbot or an RF remote control - ceiling fan and light
I have an automation that locks the doors and turns off the lights when I leave the house. Except it's not automatic -- when I leave the house, it alerts me on my watch if I want to run it. I ***always*** want to drive it. How do I make this automation...automatic? No prompts, no […]
