Hue and Nanoleaf apps won't connect

I recently moved and renamed my house to Homekit. No problems there. All scenes and devices work well. I can't tell if it's just a coincidence or related, but here are my big issues with the smart home: Nanoleaf: What's been happening lately, is that the NanoLeaf app no longer sees the house or devices […]

Room Notices - Clarification needed

Hi everyone, I searched this subhomekit.blog but didn't really find an answer, sorry if I missed something! So my question is - I would like to receive notifications from my cameras in HomeKit when I'm away and in the evening after 11pm (even when I'm home). I understand this is not possible natively. It's either […]

Anyway, to make the ringer notifications actually usable?

When someone rings my bell I get this notification; https://preview.redd.it/pgzsl8w6gtic1.jpg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e55f59f4b82128ecef653aa54e4eda5c67e0b624 But it doesn't make any sound, all I get is a small noise. I often depend on the sound to wake me up if someone rings the doorbell while I'm still asleep or even if I'm just concentrating at work. Most of the time I […]

HKSV Ringer Question - Starling hub

I just bought the Aqara and am really struggling with the look of our white shingle house. I know Aqara will release a white one soon, but it's still big. I like Aqara as it switches from subscriptions to HKSV. I can't find any viable ones, but I had a thought. If I get the […]

Using the Matter/Thread "higher language" (?) on the next project and found an Arduinos partnership with Silicon Labs at CES

I started looking around and found that *Thread is supposed to be the best of all the mesh/wifi-esqe languages.* (even though it still needs a hub for wifi... ew) It seems and Zigbee requires a hub, but it's still worse for smart home systems (somehow?). **Wanted to know if anyone has experience with Silicon Labs' […]

Are hubs still needed by thread/material?

Sorry, I know Hub vs wifi questions get posted here a lot. I'm looking for dimmers and I see that everyone recommends the lutron system with their hub because it's more stable. I see that KASA has since released dimmers that support the matter. I'm curious if using one of those with an Apple TV […]

We're looking for anyone who has a 2nd generation Nest video doorbell connected to a Starling hub for HomeKit and AppleTV. Update when switching to shade.

This post is not important. Just sharing thoughts and opinions. Just received my first 4 pack of 75w hue bulbs. Setup was nice. Like you don't need to scan a QR code every time you add a light bulb. First comparison with Vocolinc bulbs. Hue is just a fast vocolinc so it's good but Vocolincs […]
